Hi, loved looking at the website, I was a member early to mid 70's and Bert always used to give me and my sister Lynne a lift. I used to play the silver bugle. Has any one got any pictures of me and Lynne in the band and could they email them to me. We used to have such a good time in the band and a good old sing song on the way home. Always enjoyed Lowestoft carnival. How nice that Berts still involved, such a nice chap. hope there's some pictures knocking about in the early to mid 70's regards Venetia

Looking forward to seeing you at Long Eaton Carnival. It was 41 years ago that I joined the band. There's still a few faces I know. Sheila Woodward (was Jackson)

My great uncle was Harry Priestley who was also instrumental in forming the Highlanders with Clarence Travers. I remember seeing an editorial some years ago (LE Advertiser?) where where he was being presented with an award to recognise his contribution to the band but I see that there is no mention of him on the site. His sister, Gwen, & brother, Ted were also in the band as was his future wife, Mavis Anderton. I would love to know if you have any old photos of the Highlanders (other than those on this site) or anything from the editorial that I've mentioned. Best wishes Sharon

Hi guys, remember me? I still get back to LE on occasions to see family so always look and listen out for news and see how you're doing. Love the website, brings back oh so many happy memories. Some of my best were the days in the band!!!!! Nice to see Bert still involved but what of all the others I wonder - Bill, Doreen, Sue, Steve, Janette, Billy, Keith, Jean, Gay, Craig, etc, etc. The Reeks are all still involved I know (thanks Kev!). Love and best wishes to you all. Gail

Hi I stumbled on you site from a link on Wikipedia. I march with Cadence Drum & Bugle Corps based in Surrey. I had no idea there was another world of marching music outside of BYBA and DCUK. I love the uniform, having roots in the highlands it reminds me of my grandads wardrobe when I was a kid. Please visit our website www.cadencedrumcorps.org and feel free to join our forums where all our marching friends are welcome. Marching music is a dying art and we shout all stick together. Regards Paul

Hi Guys, Found your site by chance, looking through the photos brought back many memories, especially of Pete! I was in Rangers from '80-'86. Great to see that you're going strong. Good Luck for this season!
